Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. Life has been busy and hectic trying to get into the rhythm of another school year. Along with school starting, so do all the extra-curricular activities. We enjoyed a rather peaceful August, despite some health issues. There wasn't as much running to and fro. Now we have begun the homeschool co-ops, piano, swimming, volleyball and choir along with our new studies. This year I am homeschooling four - 7th grade, 5th grade, 3rd grade and kindergarten. It's definitely A LOT but we are getting into the rhythm of it all. I am blessed to have good friends to share my ideas and my woos with.
In the mix of beginning school and activities we have been in full swing of doctor's appointments. The aforementioned health issues have to do with my heart. I have unfortunately acquired an arrhythmia which has sent me to the ER twice and a two day long stay at the hospital. After lots of testing I am now on medication and have had to stop all caffeine. I've done pretty well with all but the chocolate. What's a girl to do? I've given up my coffee, my diet coke and my ice tea. Well, I've switched to decaff coffee. My dear husband has been trying to give it up along with me but, he has been caught sneaking a diet coke here and regular coffee there. He always fesses up, even when I didn't see him. I am glad he can't lie. :)I am touched that he wants to support me in it! He gets up at 4:45 every morning so I can't really blame him - I'd probably be sneaking it more too!
Along with my cardiology appointments Bumble has been getting the work-up too. In the past month we have seen the pediatrician, audiologist, speech therapist, developmental pediatrician, ophthalmologist and ECI. We will be seeing neurology later this month and then have another trip to the developmental pediatrician. We will be adding to our weekly schedule three therapy sessions - two speech and one with a developmental teacher from ECI.
As you see our plate is full. I will admit I've shed my share of tears over the past couple weeks feeling a bit overwhelmed and have questioned, "Really Lord, you think I can handle all of this?" However, often in the busyness I have allowed my prayer life to drift. In the past few days I have been making a concerted effort to get back on my knees because the Lord's answer is, "No, you can't Lea-Ann by yourself, but with ME you can!" It's amazing the peace I have in the midst of the crazy when I lean on Him!
Over Labor Day weekend we also celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary and Bumble's Baptism. It was a wonderful day of celebration! That will be coming up in the next post!
